Be careful little eyes what you see It's the second glance that ties your hands as darkness pulls the strings Be careful little feet where you go For it's the little feet behind you that are sure to follow
It's a slow fade when you give yourself away It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid When you give yourself away People never crumble in a day It's a slow fade, it's a slow fade
Be careful little ears what you hear When flattery leads to compromise, the end is always near Be careful little lips what you say For empty words and promises lead broken hearts astray
It's a slow fade when you give yourself away It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid When you give yourself away People never crumble in a day
The journey from your mind to your hands Is shorter than you're thinking Be careful if you think you stand You just might be sinking
It's a slow fade when you give yourself away It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid When you give yourself away People never crumble in a day Daddies never crumble in a day Families never crumble in a day
Oh be careful little eyes what see Oh be careful little eyes what you see For the Father up above is looking down in love Oh be careful little eyes what you see
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me.... I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now, I see.
T'was Grace that taught... my heart to fear. And Grace, my fears relieved. How precious did that Grace appear... the hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares... we have already come. T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far... and Grace will lead us home.
The Lord has promised good to me... His word my hope secures. He will my shield and portion be... as long as life endures.
When we've been here ten thousand years... bright shining as the sun. We've no less days to sing God's praise... then when we've first begun.
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me.... I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now, I see.
John Newton, the author of the lyrics to Amazing Grace, was born in 1725 in Wapping, London, United Kingdom. Despite the powerful message of "Amazing Grace," Newton's religious beliefs initially lacked conviction; his youth was marked by religious confusion and a lack of moral self-control and discipline.
After a brief time in the Royal Navy, Newton began his career in slave trading. The turning point in Newton's spiritual life was a violent storm that occurred one night while at sea. Moments after he left the deck, the crewman who had taken his place was swept overboard. Although he manned the vessel for the remainder of the tempest, he later commented that, throughout the tumult, he realized his helplessness and concluded that only the grace of God could save him. Prodded by what he had read in Thomas à Kempis' Imitation of Christ, Newton took the first step toward accepting faith....
In her novel Uncle Tom's Cabin, Harriet Beecher Stowe quoted three stanzas as seemingly from one hymn, two of them corrupt versions of Amazing Grace stanzas, and one reading:
When we’ve been there ten thousand years, Bright shining like the sun, We've no less days to sing God’s praise Than when we first begun.
Despite its relatively poor mesh with the rest of the hymn (the change from "I" to "we," change of subject, no reference for "there"), a form of this stanza became common as part of Amazing Grace in hymnals in the early twentieth century, due in large part to the influential hymnodist and publisher Edwin Othello Excell. While the stanza is often credited to John P. Rees (1828-1900), it antedates his birth. It was in print by 1790, added to an old and widely-varied hymn most usually beginning "Jerusalem, my happy home," and was still appearing as part of this hymn in books published around the time of Stowe's book...
Starpulse reports that veteran rockers The Eagles have outraged fans by charging almost $2,000 for tickets to a one-off gig in London. The concert, which is set to take place at the o2 arena on October 31, is a corporate hospitality-only performance, which has inflated ticket prices.
Front-row tickets for the gig cost over $1,900, while prices started at $948. However, the show's promoters insist Eagles merchandise, a meal, and full hospitality are included in the ticket price.
The remaining tickets in a smaller part of the arena will be distributed to competition winners, record label employees and press, according to London's Evening Standard.
I got a good laugh over this article. HAHAHAHA! GET REAL...I mean are you kidding me? Why are they angry? ...because they (the fans) didn't think of it first? When you provide a product that's in demand, you can charge whatever you like. If the product doesn't sell, then obviously the demand won't support the price. It's called economics. LOL
...and to think about some more, if it were me and I was old but still like to perform for an audience, I would prefer 50 rich quiet folks @$2000 to 2000 maniacal fans @$50 (same profit either way)...maybe they lowered the demand on purpose. hee hee. i'm still laughing. people are funny!!!!!!
henna soaking in the hair and music flooding through my ears. here's an old classic favorite. the lyrics are very touching and have an interesting meaning. good thing God is greater than us.
The Last Resort by The Eagles
She came from Providence, the one in Rhode Island Where the old world shadows hang heavy in the air She packed her hopes and dreams like a refugee Just as her father came across the sea She heard about a place people were smilin' They spoke about the red man's way, and how they loved the land And they came from everywhere to the Great Divide Seeking a place to stand or a place to hide
Down in the crowded bars, out for a good time, Can't wait to tell you all, what it's like up there And they called it paradise I don't know why Somebody laid the mountains low while the town got high
Then the chilly winds blew down Across the desert through the canyons of the coast, to the Malibu Where the pretty people play, hungry for power to light their neon way and give them things to do
Some rich men came and raped the land, Nobody caught 'em Put up a bunch of ugly boxes, and Jesus, people bought 'em And they called it paradise The place to be They watched the hazy sun, sinking in the sea
You can leave it all behind and sail to Lahaina just like the missionaries did, so many years ago They even brought a neon sign: "Jesus is coming" Brought the white man's burden down Brought the white man's reign
Who will provide the grand design? What is yours and what is mine? 'Cause there is no more new frontier We have got to make it here
We satisfy our endless needs and justify our bloody deeds, in the name of destiny and in the name of God
And you can see them there, On Sunday morning They stand up and sing about what it's like up there They call it paradise I don't know why You call someplace paradise, kiss it goodbye
just listening to some music and was reminded of how much i've always loved this song.
there were several copies of this, but this one caught my eye, because of the dress. i was a child of the 80s and what better way to express that then a video of elton john dressed like michael jackson. LOL
Folding laundry and listening to the pop station on the radio. Heard a song that really grabbed me. Made me think of all the years hubby and I have shared together and how wonderful they have been.
I'm looking forward to spending the rest of my "hundred years" with you, baby.
I'm 15 for a moment Caught in between 10 and 20 And I'm just dreaming Counting the ways to where you are I'm 22 for a moment She feels better than ever And we're on fire Making our way back from Mars 15 there's still time for you Time to buy and time to lose 15, there's never a wish better than this When you only got 100 years to live I'm 33 for a moment Still the man, but you see I'm a they A kid on the way A family on my mind I'm 45 for a moment The sea is high And I'm heading into a crisis Chasing the years of my life 15 there's still time for you Time to buy, Time to lose yourself Within a morning star 15 I'm all right with you 15, there's never a wish better than this When you only got 100 years to live Half time goes by Suddenly you're wise Another blink of an eye 67 is gone The sun is getting high We're moving on... I'm 99 for a moment Dying for just another moment And I'm just dreaming Counting the ways to where you are 15 there's still time for you 22 I feel her too 33 you're on your way Every day's a new day... 15 there's still time for you Time to buy and time to choose Hey 15, there's never a wish better than this When you only got 100 years to live
Back home now I know you're probably sleepin' Over here it's the middle of the day I finally found the time to write a letter Sittin' here a half a world away
I heard about all them folks protestin' As if I really want this war But that don't stop me from believin' There's just some things worth fightin' for
CHORUS And if I die before you wake, I pray the world will take A good look at what God's given us That we could only understand, everything is in his hands All we need is a little faith and trust I want you to know it ain't too high a price to pay If I die before you wake
Tell everybody that I miss them And I can't wait to get back home But until then I'll serve my country And be proud to wear this uniform
CHORUS No it ain't too high a price to pay If I die before you wake
~ Written by Dustin Evans, Dave Brainard and Rick Tiger ~ Performed by Dustin Evans
A summer love is beautiful But it's not enough To satisfy emotions That are shared between us A winter love is cozy But I need so much more It just intensifies my wants To have a love that endures
'Cause every time I close my eyes I think of you And no matter what the season nears I still love you With all my heart And I wanna be with you Wherever you are
I only think of you on two occasions That's day and night I'd go for broke if I could be with you Only you can make it right
An autumn love is special At this time of the year But when the leaves are gone Does that love disappear I never underestimate the new love of spring But I'm glad to say in my heart I know my love's lasting
'Cause every time I close my eyes I think of you And no matter what the season nears I still love you With all my heart And I wanna be with you Wherever you are
(chorus) 2x
'Cause every time I close my eyes I think of you And no matter what the season nears I still love you With all my heart And I wanna be with you Wherever you are
The words and music to the Christmas song Little Drummer Boy was composed by Katherine K. Davis, Henry Onorati and Harry Simeone in 1958. The lyrics of Little Drummer Boy consist of no less than 21 rum pum pum pum' - a major part of the song and therefore presenting an apparently easy task for the lyricist! However, Little Drummer Boy has been a huge hit for several artists. The most notable rendition was created by the most unlikely combination of Bing Crosby and David Bowie. This version of Little Drummer Boy was a massive hot for the artists and was in fact Bing Crosby's most successful recording since the legendary White Christmas.

Little Drummer Boy: Lyrics
Come they told me, pa rum pum pum pum A new born King to see, pa rum pum pum pum Our finest gifts we bring, pa rum pum pum pum To lay before the King, pa rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum, So to honor Him, pa rum pum pum pum, When we come. Little Baby, pa rum pum pum pum I am a poor boy too, pa rum pum pum pum I have no gift to bring, pa rum pum pum pum That's fit to give the King, pa rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum, Shall I play for you, pa rum pum pum pum, On my drum? Mary nodded, pa rum pum pum pum The ox and lamb kept time, pa rum pum pum pum I played my drum for Him, pa rum pum pum pum I played my best for Him, pa rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum, Then He smiled at me, pa rum pum pum pum Me and my drum.
"Do You Hear What I Hear?" is a Christmas song, with words and music written by Noel Regney and Gloria Shayne in 1962. It was originally recorded by the Harry Simeone Chorale in 1962. However, Bing Crosby made a hit recording of the carol on Capitol Records on November 22, 1963 and released a week and a half later on a then-new Christmas album. Over the years, the song has been widely played on the radio. The original version has been available on numerous compilation Christmas albums and compact discs put out by Capitol Records.
The song was later recorded by many different artists, including House of Wires, the Hampton String Quartet, Andy Williams, The Carpenters, Gladys Knight, Perry Como, Copeland, David Arkenstone, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Delta Goodrem, Whitney Houston, Linda Eder, Ed Ames, Destiny's Child, Flyleaf, Celine Dion, and Rosie O'Donnell, Anthony Way and Rosie O' Donnell (with special guest Elmo). There's an instrumental version by Michael Angelo Batio. In recent years, the original version has become less popular than later renditions. There are many different versions of the sheet music, including sheet music for piano, guitar, trumpet, and tuba.
disclaimer: caution
must be taken when reading my blog. i'm a new creature and the
Lord continues to mold and shape me through his will. older
entries may seem to contradict the newer ones. there's a pretty
good chance that they do for two reasons. first, because of my
nature, as i strive for perfection, i will continue to fall short of the
mark and should therefore be thankful for his grace and should seek his (and your) forgiveness for having been so foolish in the past. second, i continue
to grow in him; and as changes are made, i have made attempts to change my blog to reflect those changes. in this event, please refer to #1. if you're interested in perfection, my blog isn't the place
to be. pick up a king james bible (yup, i'm one of THOSE people)
and read his PERFECT word.
