I finally got my MC and was able to order my supplies online. How exciting. It was my first time. I ordered a whole bunch of stuff and got most of it in one day.
I got a bottle capper and some caps to bottle my Kombucha. It was a success. Hubby really likes it and now he drinks it instead of all those nasty energy drinks that you get from the gas station.
I also got a bunch of new herbs and some henna herb for my hair. I'm a bottle blonde and am toying with the idea of going red again, only the natural way. I would have already done it, but haven't been feeling well, so I'm waiting until I feel better.
The kids have been sick so I ordered some Eucalyptus to help with their cough and congestion and man that stuff really works. My throat felt so awful when I got up this morning but I've been inhaling this stuff all day and I might be okay tomorrow. WE'll just have to wait and see. The kids aren't coughing either but I've had them and me on a regimine of GSE and 7up for 4 days. I think that killed it (for them). They are still having some symptoms, but they seem to be getting better. I've also been going through garlic like mad for all of us. This house really stinks. Garlic and Vicks smell -- yum yum.
It was soooooo hot today. It was almost 100 degrees in the house, but by the grace of God, it rained. Not only did it rain, but it poured. Every bit of humidity is gone and we now have our redneck swimming pool back (the mud in the backyard due to all the ongoing construction this summer).
Don't know if I told you before, but because of all the upgrades around town, we got new water mains. We now have real water pressure, which we haven't had since we moved in. Before you couldn't run two faucets at the same time anywhere in the house and now you can run 3. Woowoo. It's very exciting to be able to do laundry in a 1/2 hour in stead of an hour and 1/2.
I'm having a ton of fun at my new job. I think my bosses are great and the job is so much more "useful" than my last job outside the house. I get to share information, research and what little wisdom I've acquired over the years and I'm actually appreciated for it. My last job was a prairie dog farm where beauraucracy and statistics ruled the atmosphere. You weren't allowed to have fun or like anyone. It was so impersonal. I even once got written up for sexual harassment because I was discussing having children with another woman who had just recently married and she wasn't even the one who complained. I never did figure that one out. Anyway, I love my new job and it just keeps getting better and better.
God really is good.

Fleas are still chewing on my ankles as of yesterday, so I did some research on the internet and found that salt might be deadly to fleas. Salt!! Of all things, it's cheap and it's non-toxic for the kids and cats. If you get a little on you, the worst it will do is tickle or dry your skin a bit.
I don't know how effective it will be, but I generously sprinkled the carpet last night and decided to leave it for a day or two and then vacuum it up. This sight also recommended putting salt in the vacuum bag to ensure that you kill the fleas you suck up.
Also going to buy some brewer's yeast for the cats. I used to feed it to my cat as a teen and it seemed to work, so I'll have to get some this weekend.
I've decided I want a dehydrator for Christmas/Birthday instead of a ring. Hee hee. That's the way with me. I'd love to have a ring, but can't seem to throw caution to the wind and spend the dough it takes to put one on my finger. A dehydrator would actually be an investment. I like dried herbs and homemade beef jerky. I also found in research that growing pepperment, basil and sage in my yard may go a long way to repel flies, fleas and ants! So I can grow, repel and then dry the herbs. I think I'll try and grow a raspberry bush too. Red raspberry leaf tea is so good for what ails a woman "now and again" *wink*. (It also said a sprig of basil in your fruit bowl would go a long way to prevent fruit flies!) I'll let you know how the salt works. So far, no new bites on my feet or ankles, but they are so chewed up already it will be a few days before I know for sure.

3 kitty flea baths today - 2nd time in a month. what an experience. hubby has to help. the toms are pretty ferocious in the tub. we literally scared the "poo" out of one today - GROSS! treated the carpet for the 2nd time and still found a little booger crawling on my foot when it was all over - ugh. i'm almost to the point where the mad woman in my house is going to come out of hiding and do some serious bug elimination - I HATE BUGS!!!!
Found a giant cricket (alive) in my washing machine about the size of my big toe. UGH!
Praise the Lord for BUG SPRAY!!!!!!!

Daughter is on a rampage (hormones and attitude). I'm surprised she hasn't burned the house down. Ugh! Cold season has arrived, yippeee! Leak number 3 in the water line. Yahoo! Lawn mower not working and we've got the Amazon out back - I'm sure the new neighbors are going love it (thank God, fall is almost here, leaves will cover it up soon - hahahaha)!
Life is Good. The Lord is great. My husband loves me and I love him. My children are beautiful, healthy and smart. My baby boy adores his mommy - *snicker*.

I think I chickened out on the streaking. I just can't seem to figure out how to do it. I didn't want the brush on or the cap - my hair is just way to long for either of those methods to work. I think I'll just take the dye back to the store and dream of beautiful hair.
I have a prayer request. Our new neighbors are wonderful people (or at least he is). She on the other hand is a very bitter and distraut woman and is going to inevitably destroy her marriage. I would ask that you all pray that the Lord would convict her heart and come to Him and then bring her heart back to her husband. I just keep watching this all happen before my eyes and it makes my heart ache. If she does not answer her convictions, pray the Lord would keep her from taking his children out of the country and therefore out of reach as she is not a US citizen. (They have one and one on the way).
I'll just let you folks know, that I feel very blessed that the Lord convicts my heart daily to bring it back to my husband. My husband is far from perfect, but if he were perfect, what use would he have for me, the mess that I am?

Fixed the leak in the bathtub waterline and a couple of days later the line to the toilet broke from the new improved water pressure. Good thing my hubby isn 't afraid of tackling projects with no experience or knowledge. He did a fine job of fixing both and saved us about $300 in the process. Still having trouble with the ants and the pesticide didn't touch the bees in the hive. Still working on a solution to that. Someone mentioned a bug zapper. We are ruminating on the idea.
The worst of the heat seems to be over and we had a very cool spell for a few days and now it's hot again, but it's much cooler than a couple of weeks ago. We were practically melting on the furniture. Now we are just sweating on it.
I've read the first 4 books in the Chronicles of Narnia and have started the 5th. They are written on a much younger level than I am used to reading, so they just flow right along. Very good books. I wish I had discovered them when I was at that much younger level. I think I would have enjoyed them very much.
Learned how to hook my PC to my stereo. So cool. Now we don't have to listen on the tiny little PC speakers anymore. We can listen in surround sound. Yippeeee. My husband is thrilled and of course, I'm always thrilled when I can find something to give him that thrills him so much (as he is not so easily moved).
Going to try streaking my hair today or tomorrow. I have light brown to dark blonde hair and am going to put some subtle burgundy streaks in it. I am just trying to figure out where to put them so as to stand out, but not look like I spray painted them on. hee hee.

Been here, hmmm...a little over a month and they took our tree. There was a 100+ year old maple tree shading our front porch when we moved in and the city cut it down yesterday for their city upgrade project. Something about widening the corners on the road. Bitter sweet, really. It turns out the tree was almost dead from ant infestation and probably would have come down soon during a storm or such other problem, but now the east side of the house is exposed to direct sunlight for 70 percent of the day. I'm sure it was a blessing, but we miss the tree none the less.
I got a new kitchen faucet today. That was an easy blessing to spot. We've had nothing but trouble from the kitchen sink since we moved in. Even got a $17 discount on the faucet because Walmart mismarked the shelf.
Hubby's surgery is tomorrow. Things will be busy for the next few days trying to heal him back up for work.
I'm currently reading, "Created To Be His Help Meet", by Debi Pearl (2nd time). It is 2nd only to the Bible out of all the books I've read on how to perfect one's skills as a wife and help meet to your husband. It's been so busy here, I barely have time to breath, much less catch up with everyone. I do miss reading your entries, but it may be some time before I'm able to do just that. I have 3 kids and 3 extras that I babysit on night shift, while my husband is gone. The house is magnificant. The Lord has blessed us richly; however, there is so many little things that still need to be done...for instance, today, I installed a towel rack, a tooth brush holder, a new door handle for the back door, unpacked a box of tax papers, took my baby to the ER because one of the old windows crashed down on his arm (he's ok), bathed and bedded 6 children, did 2 loads of laundry with half water pressure and got ready to take hubby to the surgeon's office tomorrow for a consult. He's had 2 gall stone attacks and ER visits in the last 2 weeks. This has been a typical day in the last 6 weeks. Never a dull moment.
"Phew", just typing all this for you is making me tired. I don't know where all my energy is coming from, but I'm sure the Lord has a hand in it. Praise Him!

I don't have a lot of time to spare these days, but I thought I would drop in a give everyone a big hello and a small update.......... it stormed on moving day, the truck leaked and got
stuck in our front yard. dad had to pull it out with
a chain. it has rained 2 out of every 3 days since
we've moved into our new house. the temperature is
very mild. we are very busy shingling and painting
and still unpacking. i have also taken on 3 day care
children on second shift (my sis in laws kids). so I
have 6 kids from 3pm to 3am every week night. the
baby is adjusting but the move startled him quite a
bit and he was cutting a tooth right in the middle of
it all. it has been a mad house filled with so many
blessings. we do not have a stove because there is no
220 for us to plug it in, so we are using 2 electric
skillets and a microwave but I found a toaster oven at
a garage sale for $1 the first weekend we were here.
we have no long distance, been trying to get it turned
on for 3 weeks. there is no water pressure so no
showers and the water heater is ancient, so the bath
water is rusty. it is a two story house, so my legs
are sore from checking the kids, painting and
unpacking. we are all covered with bruises, paint and
cuts. it's been quite an adventure. hubby had a gall
stone attack yesterday so had to spend the day in the
hospital and in the midst of all of this, all i keep
thinking is what a cool new neighbor we got. he
helped us roof (and loaned us tools for roofing), he
mowed our grass for the first time because we couldn't
get our lawn mower out of the garage because of all
the boxes. the last two weeks have been very tiring
and very challenging. an awesome adventure upon which
to embark.
The Lord has blessed us many times over.
I hope everyone else can bask in the blessings of His
glory as we have!

Moving Day!
Cleaning and packing like a crazy person. Ugh! I'm allergic to dust and newspaper--the two most common things about packing. Still not feeling very inspired to leave anything of value to share, just thought I'd stop in and let you know, I'm still alive and kickin'.

We found another house. Time is tight to get it offered and accepted and closed, but we're hoping.
I don't have a picture this time, but I'll try to describe it. It is much older, but much bigger than the previous offer we made (and much cheaper).
It's 1500 sq ft total living area. One car garage. The interesting thing
about the garage, is that it looks to me as if the slab under it
extends far enough under the breezeway attatched to the house, that
you could put a bigger door in the garage and park 2 cars in it. (not
sure, obviously, I'm not a carpenter, but I can see it in my head :)
It's an old square victorian built in 1900. 2 full stories and attic
with floors and access stairs. The garage is built behind the house
turned sideways and there is a very long breezeway which attatches a
mudroom behind the kitchen, encloses the "outside" basement entrance
and attatches to the garage, giving us 2 extra rooms for deepfreeze
and washer/dryer. the downstairs is one bedroom beside the kitchen.
full dining room beside the bathroom and living room beside bannister
stairs with closet underneath. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs, but it
appears the master is actually 2 bedrooms that have had the dividing
wall torn out, as there are 2 closets and 2 hallway doors. It's in
excellent condition. The carpet is modern and clean, but not new.
It's probably been rewired as their are extra outlets plus ground(I
think) and several phone jacks as well.
About the only drawback is that the garage is one car and we have to
buy a new stove. We have an electric stove and the kitchen is not wired for
it. Only has gas hookup. May have to hook stove to dryer hookup
until we can replace it. hahaha.
I wish I had a picture, cuz it looks to me like a house out of a horror movie. Kinda spooky on the outside. Very tall and ominous looking.
My entries are thinning and may stop completely more towards moving day. We may not order internet right away, due to extra costs for moving. Moving day is May 14th.
