Hubby's surgery was a tremendous success. He was in and out in 20 minutes. He was in the surgical center in total for prep, procedure and recovery for 3 1/2 hours. He's a little tender. They cut 3 little holes in his belly, but there were no complications and he should be eating Whoppers in no time. (or maybe a Junior Whopper - his appetite is rather small the last few days).

Thanks for your prayers and your comments.

An intersting thought for you: We eat lots of Korean food around here. For those of you who read my stuff you may remember my entry with all the pictures, however if you don't it's here Korean Food Pics.

Anyway, my point is this. My father drove up for a visit a couple of weekends ago. He has recently been diagnosed with emphasima except that the doctors aren't sure. He's had problems with his lungs for years. He takes albuterol in a nebulizer and he's fatigued frequently. When he was up here, we fed him some Korean food and he sent me an email the next day asking me what was in that stuff. He hadn't felt better in months. His breathing cleared, his fatigue was gone and his head felt better. The moral? Eat healthy. Korean food has many healthy ingredients: namely garlic, but also includes onions, ginger, sesame, red pepper and kimchi(cabbage).

Have a blessed day.

Been here, hmmm...a little over a month and they took our tree. There was a 100+ year old maple tree shading our front porch when we moved in and the city cut it down yesterday for their city upgrade project. Something about widening the corners on the road. Bitter sweet, really. It turns out the tree was almost dead from ant infestation and probably would have come down soon during a storm or such other problem, but now the east side of the house is exposed to direct sunlight for 70 percent of the day. I'm sure it was a blessing, but we miss the tree none the less.

I got a new kitchen faucet today. That was an easy blessing to spot. We've had nothing but trouble from the kitchen sink since we moved in. Even got a $17 discount on the faucet because Walmart mismarked the shelf.

Hubby's surgery is tomorrow. Things will be busy for the next few days trying to heal him back up for work.

I'm currently reading, "Created To Be His Help Meet", by Debi Pearl (2nd time). It is 2nd only to the Bible out of all the books I've read on how to perfect one's skills as a wife and help meet to your husband. I recommend it to any woman who is married and wants a heavenly marriage here on Earth. If you want more info, click on the picture of the book to check out the web site...

It's been so busy here, I barely have time to breath, much less catch up with everyone. I do miss reading your entries, but it may be some time before I'm able to do just that. I have 3 kids and 3 extras that I babysit on night shift, while my husband is gone. The house is magnificant. The Lord has blessed us richly; however, there is so many little things that still need to be done...for instance, today, I installed a towel rack, a tooth brush holder, a new door handle for the back door, unpacked a box of tax papers, took my baby to the ER because one of the old windows crashed down on his arm (he's ok), bathed and bedded 6 children, did 2 loads of laundry with half water pressure and got ready to take hubby to the surgeon's office tomorrow for a consult. He's had 2 gall stone attacks and ER visits in the last 2 weeks. This has been a typical day in the last 6 weeks. Never a dull moment.

"Phew", just typing all this for you is making me tired. I don't know where all my energy is coming from, but I'm sure the Lord has a hand in it. Praise Him!

Be blessed everyone as we are, and ladies, get that book. It could very well, be the best thing you'll ever do for your marriage.

Have a blessed day and week!
disclaimer:  caution must be taken when reading my blog.  i'm a new creature and the Lord continues to mold and shape me through his will.  older entries may seem to contradict the newer ones.  there's a pretty good chance that they do for two reasons.  first, because of my nature, as i strive for perfection, i will continue to fall short of the mark and should therefore be thankful for his grace and should seek his (and your) forgiveness for having been so foolish in the past.   second, i continue to grow in him; and as changes are made, i have made attempts to change my blog to reflect those changes. in this event, please refer to #1.   if you're interested in perfection, my blog isn't the place to be.  pick up a king james bible (yup, i'm one of THOSE people) and read his PERFECT word.
