blog party

this is a party post for a blog party. for those readers who usually visit my blog, you can join in the fun as well until the 8th of April.

hmmmmm, i'm usually not one to be short on words, but this whole blog party thing has got me...well...speechless. in the public arena, i'm generally very friendly and forward, but i guess trying to make new friends via this blogging avenue seems, well...rather strange to me. but, here i sit, with way too much time on my hands. even with all the things i do, i never seem to have enough to do. strange.

i don't mind sharing a bit of this and a bit of that, but as most of friends already know, i reserve personal information such as photos, names, etc. for people that i've actually come to know and trust. my husband and i might be a touch on the paranoid side, i suppose, but that doesn't mean "they" aren't after me.

most of the time, my friends tell me i'm fun. i'm random. i'm crazy and i love starting my sentences with small letters instead of capitals. i dye my hair red with herbs. my clothes often don't match. i figure i'm 40 and i can get away with it and besides...nobody but hubs is lookin' at these hips anymore. bleh.

i like to cook AND clean. my husband is korean, so alot of the recipes i share are either korean or some other asian style of cooking (my mother-in-law has been instrumental in my ability to prepare korean food). i homeschool. i blog, network and work from home for an herb store. i answer customer service emails about health and herbal medicine. i make my own bread and a lot of messes. i also love to take pictures which really comes in handy when making new recipes, because i love to share pictures of the food i cook.

and although most of what i do online consists of writing, i don't consider myself a very good writer, which is why i most often choose to blog. no editor over my shoulder at blogspot.com.

i also have a degree in computer programming but haven't worked in my field in almost 10 years. after i lost my "real job" hubs and i decided it was time for me to stay home and start doing the "housewife" thang! this means i have a bit more puter saavy than some, but among my "peers" i'm fairly obsolete. i don't mind. i like who i am and what i do.

my kids and i have also recently started volunteering at the local animal shelter. because, i don't drive, we needed something close and the Lord blessed us, because the shelter is only a block away.

i don't have my profile posted on the front page, but it's me in a nutshell so i'll copy it here.
I'm descended from misfits. I love them all and hope to make them proud (especially my daddy) by finding the answers to life and holy marriage...as God designed it. I have a gorgeous, caring husband who continues to amaze me with his good qualities (especially those eyes) daily. He is my hero, my lover, my adviser and my companion. I have 3 beautiful replicas of myself and my husband (most people call these children). They continue to grow and show me a glimpse of myself (both good and bad) from another perspective. I now have a grandchild on the way (due in October). I also have 1 cat and 2 guinea pigs and a gaggle of good friends that the Lord has seen fit to grace me with.

anyway, i'm not sure if this is what the blog party hosts were looking for, but i suppose it's me.

disclaimer:  caution must be taken when reading my blog.  i'm a new creature and the Lord continues to mold and shape me through his will.  older entries may seem to contradict the newer ones.  there's a pretty good chance that they do for two reasons.  first, because of my nature, as i strive for perfection, i will continue to fall short of the mark and should therefore be thankful for his grace and should seek his (and your) forgiveness for having been so foolish in the past.   second, i continue to grow in him; and as changes are made, i have made attempts to change my blog to reflect those changes. in this event, please refer to #1.   if you're interested in perfection, my blog isn't the place to be.  pick up a king james bible (yup, i'm one of THOSE people) and read his PERFECT word.
