i'm on my knees in the bathroom scrubbing the tub.

daughter: mom, do you need help?
me: if you really wanna help, you can pick up the living room, so i can vacuum in a minute.
daughter: ok (then to her brother) get up and help me. mom says we have to clean the living room.

me: ahem. come HERE. what did i say?
daughter: if i wanna help i can clean the living room.
me: RIGHT!
